New Microsoft tool helps users find best photos and videos

A new era for Windows: Microsoft will link Windows 10 to Android and iOS with Fall Creators Update

Microsoft announced the next major Windows 10 update at its annual software conference Microsoft Build. It includes My People app, New Timeline feature, Story Remix app, Fluent Design Language and much more.

Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Windows and Devices Group, said: 'We designed Windows 10 to empower the creator in all of us. When enabled, users no longer need keep local copies of files uploaded to the company's cloud storage service. Like for example, when you switch devices, Cortana would ask if you want to "Pick Up Where you Let Off", a simple "Yes" would then open the same application/document for you on your current device.

This cross-platform integration will also be made possible for third-party apps, through the use of "Project Rome", with Microsoft showing how developers can code their apps in a way that will allow users to seamlessly continue their experience across different devices. We're talking about updating Microsoft's somewhat new in-house browser, Edge, separately from the Windows OS.

According to The Verge report, the Microsoft Windows 10 Fall Creators Update can help the users' activities and applications whether they are using an iOS or Android device.

The cloud-powered universal clipboard is also integrated to Microsoft's Office apps.

"Clipboard is a fast and easy way to copy and paste just about anything between connected devices, whether you're on a Windows PC or your favorite mobile phone", Myerson wrote.

Until now, Windows 10 was continuing a tweaked version of the Windows 98 layout. Animations are also improved by having smoother and sophisticated motion.

Not only that, but Ubuntu is also now available in the Windows Store, with SUSE Linux and Fedora Linux to become available soon. Microsoft is the owner of Windows operating system both for PCs and smartphone devices. The images and videos you can add 3D objects, and devices with Windows Ink to stories pregreplace annotations. Along that vein, a new feature called Story Remix will automatically identify the best photos and videos to help people create highlights of their experiences. While not a groundbreaking feature, the underlying technology used for Story Remix is pretty interesting. The option appears on iOS and Android devices, and SwiftKey will update the keyboard, adding a browse button buffer on other gadgets. This is why Edge was lagging far behind other more constantly upgraded browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. However, it does still lag when users ope and close tabs, or when they start typing a URL in the search box.

That isn't all Microsoft has planned for its second Creators Update but it is all the company is sharing for now. Windows Server 2016 will also receive a feature update aligned with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
